Korfez Chamber of Commerce energy and logistics committiee meetings is held. At the meeting, the effects of the COVID-19 process on the logistics and energy sector were discussed. Korfez Chamber of Commerce Chairman Recep Öztürk, who spoke at the meeting, said, "The increase in the SCT in energy puts the transportation and logistics sector in trouble. The increase in the SCT in fuel has increased the problems of the sector, which is in trouble due to the current economic shrinkage and pandemic in our country, and has reduced its sustainability.

LOGISTICS SECTOR SUFFERED FROM THIS PROCESS

KTO Chairman Öztürk who spoke at the meeting, said, “The bans due to the pandemic in the transportation sector and the reduced passenger order put the sector in a difficult situation. The increase in materials such as vehicle spare parts and tire expenses, which increased with the increase in foreign exchange in the logistics sector, increased the costs in the logistics sector far above the service costs. This situation makes both loss and sustainability of the sector impossible. Due to the cost increases in the logistics sector, the prices offered by the manufacturer to the consumer increase significantly and their competition with the world decreases. In the transportation and logistics sector, more suitable vehicle purchase and appropriate fuel supply should be ensured; by reducing the SCT or various taxes in this area, the way for our producers, traders and tradesperson should be cleared.”
