The builders from Kocaeli, who met with Fatma Varank, Deputy Minister of Environment and Urbanization for the solution of the problems in the sector, returned from the visit with their hands full.

Builders from Kocaeli continue to seek solutions to the problems experienced in the sector. In this context, he met with Deputy Minister of Environment and Urbanization Fatma Varank, President of Körfez Chamber of Commerce Recep Öztürk, Chairman of the Construction Committee of Körfez Chamber of Commerce Ayşe Hacet Aşar, Treasurer Member of Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce (KOTO) Mikail Kayacı, Deputy Chairman of KOTO Assembly Hüseyin Avni Aslan and Management Board Member Abdurrahman Çuhadar explained the demands of the sector by bringing up the issues they had gathered from the representatives of the sector, item by item, with a delegation consisting of the officials of the Chambers in Kocaeli for about five months.

Stating that the file presented at the meeting, a delegation consisting of the representatives of the Chambers in our city visited all the stakeholders in-depth and after the consultations at the end of intensive work, solution proposals were developed, Recep Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of the Board of the Körfez Chamber of Commerce, said: We are very pleased that we conveyed it to Fatma Varank, Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, and that our Ministry took quick actions to make improvements. As a result of these actions, all builders in Turkey will benefit. In addition, we would like to thank our Deputy Minister for his high level interest and relevance.”

Demands with Solutions

In the productive meeting, the main demands of the Kocaeli builders, who presented a 17-item dossier, were as follows;

* In the works under 1000 square meters, Building Inspection Companies, Contractors and Project Designers experience difficulties due to the fact that they come from long distances. As a result of our discussions on this subject, it was decided to start a study by the Ministry on the assignment of these works to Building Inspection Firms located in close proximity.

* The long duration of the termination proceedings between the Building Control and the contractor company causes both parties to suffer. It was decided to carry out work to remedy this grievance.

* The fact that the auditor engineers and project authors working in the Building Audit Companies do not have a good grasp of the current regulations causes problems. As a result of the discussion on this subject; It was decided to organize information seminars by Environment and Urbanization in order to have a good grasp of the updated regulations.

* The fee for the Building Identity Certificate (BKS), which is newly added to the system, which caused problems between building inspection firms and contractors, was discussed. It was proposed that this fee should not be paid by the building inspection companies and that this fee would be covered by the Ministry.

* The inclusion of both municipalities and Environment and Urbanization in the process of removing jobs from the system slows down the process. It was decided to carry out a study in order to speed up the process related to this issue.

* In cases where the contractors engaged in housing construction buy land on behalf of their own company and build; If he wants to do business with the public, he cannot get a work completion certificate. Even if he is a subcontractor of the work, he cannot get the job completion on the grounds that his name is not mentioned in the license. It was decided to carry out a study in order to eliminate the grievance experienced in this regard.
